The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art and the School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University have announced a transformative estate gift, with an estimated value of close to $4 million, from painter, collector and IU Professor Emeritus of Fine Arts William "Bill" Itter. 

The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. The grant will allow the museum to hire a three-year, limited-term Assistant Curator of Photography and two part-time student support staff to conduct research and photography on the museum’s Henry Holmes Smith Archive.

The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana Universityhas entered into a new multiyear partnership with the Tsinghua University Art Museum at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The partnership features cooperation in the areas of exhibitions, programs, and staff and student exchanges over several years.

While the Eskenazi Museum of Art is closed for renovations, a selection of works from its renowned collection will be on view at the Speed Art Museum during the second half of 2018.

We are thrilled to announce a $2 million endowment to support the Patricia and Joel Meier Chair of Education at the IU Eskenazi Museum of Art, thanks to museum volunteer docent and National Advisory Board member Patricia Meier and her husband, Joel.

Renovation will include new entrance, expanded gallery and event space, enhanced facilities for educational programming and curatorial studies, and increased visitor accessibility. It will further the museum's mission as a center for education, and a gathering place for students and community members.
