A Revitalized Collections Online is Here

Dear friends,

As many of you know, the Eskenazi Museum has been working toward improvements to Collections Online, our web-based portal to the museum’s more than 47,000 works of art. Since its initial launch in the fall of 2019, we have been listening to and noting your feedback as users, stakeholders, and supporters. Your input helped us identify key areas of improvement for the next iteration of this valuable resource for students, researchers, and the public.

In October 2024, after several years of stalled efforts, our team renewed its focus on Collections Online. We pivoted away from a series of unsuccessful, resource-consuming solutions and began moving toward a strategic, sustainable, and shareable Collections Online model.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce that the new and improved Collections Online is LIVE!

But we’re not done yet.

We need you to help us define what’s next for Collections Online. I invite each of you to check out the revitalized site and leave your feedback by clicking the link in the site’s footer. Good, bad, and ugly—we want to know what you think and how we can continue to improve.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support of Collections Online. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we are excited for what’s next.

Welcome back to Collections Online!

Sincerely,

Jessie Waymire
Director of Creative Services

About the IU Eskenazi Museum of Art

Since its establishment in 1941, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art has grown from a small university teaching collection into one of the most significant university art collections in the United States. A preeminent teaching museum on the Indiana University campus, its internationally acclaimed collection includes more than 47,000 objects representing nearly every art-producing culture throughout history from around the world.

The Eskenazi Museum of Art recently completed a $30 million renovation of its acclaimed I. M. Pei–designed building. The newly renovated museum is an enhanced teaching resource for Indiana University and southern Indiana. The museum is dedicated to engaging students, faculty, artists, scholars, alumni, and the wider public through the cultivation of new ideas and scholarship.
