Remembrance and Renewal: American Artists and the Holocaust, 1940–1970

Remembrance and Renewal will be the first exhibition to examine the impact of the Holocaust on the development of midcentury American art.

Radius: Helen Frankenthaler Prints in Context

Radius: Helen Frankenthaler Prints in Context displays eighteen prints by celebrated Abstract Expressionist Helen Frankenthaler (1928–2011) side-by-side with prints by contemporaries such as Lee Krasner, Robert Motherwell, and Jackson Pollock.

Ali Cherri is a Lebanese artist who makes film, sculpture, paintings, and installations, often combining found artifacts with handmade forms.

The Lives of Art: Provenance Stories from the Eskenazi Museum of Art’s Collection

This two-part focus exhibition, on view in both first floor permanent collection galleries, sheds light on the research undertaken in conjunction with the Eskenazi Museum of Art’s Nazi-Era Provenance Research Project.

Alternate Paths: New Object Histories from Africa to America

This exhibition considers the interventions that people have made to objects over time and the implications of such departures from the objects’ initial making. It explores this topic through three thematic areas related to artistic agency, ethics and provenance, and materiality.

Reinvigorating Tradition: Rinpa in Japanese Art and Design

Saturday, April 19, 2025, 10 a.m.—Sunday, April 05, 2026, 5 p.m.

This focus exhibition explores the transmission of the Japanese Rinpa aesthetic. It highlights how Rinpa's distinctive repertoire of patterns, motifs, and techniques—hallmarks of Japanese art and design today—were continually emulated and reinvigorated by artists working in diverse media, notably woodblock-printed picture books.
