Museum expanding hours, capacity in August
After reducing hours and capacity in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic last year, the IU Eskenazi Museum of Art is pleased to announce that it will return to a normal schedule of operations and eliminate capacity restrictions for galleries on August 24, 2021.

IU Eskenazi Museum of Art Acquires Painting by French/Mexican Surrealist Artist Alice Rahon
The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University is pleased to announce the acquisition of Boîte à musique III (Music Box III) (1945) by the French/Mexican Surrealist artist Alice Rahon (1916–1987). The purchase of the painting was made possible thanks to the generosity of Paula Sunderman, a docent at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, along with Ann Sanderson, a former member of the museum’s National Advisory Board, and the estate of Herman B Wells via the Joseph Granville and Anna Bernice Wells Memorial Fund.

The IU Eskenazi Museum of Art is excited to announce that it will reopen to visitors following a five-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday, August 27, the museum will open to the general public in accordance with the university’s latest safety guidelines, designed to keep both guests and staff safe.

Eskenazi Museum of Art Hires Lauren Richman as Assistant Curator of Photography
The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University has hired Lauren Richman as its Assistant Curator of Photography thanks to a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. Richman’s three-year term position will focus on researching the archive of Henry Holmes Smith.
