
Grand Allusions: Robert Barnes—Late Works 1985-2015
Designed to introduce visitors to both the traditional visual arts of Kenya and to an important recent acquisition by the IU Art Museum, the exhibition is drawn from a collection of over 200 objects from Kenya acquired by the IU Art Museum in 2014.Robert Barnes has been called the "most famous unknown painter in America." The goal of the Indiana University Art Museum's special exhibition Grand Allusions: Robert Barnes—Late Works 1985-2015, on view September 26-December 20, 2015, is to bring greater attention and new scholarship to the work of this fascinating abstract/figural artist.
