Darla Blazey serves as Director of Administration and Strategic Initiatives for the Eskenazi Museum of Art and is a member of the museum's senior leadership team. She oversees finance, human resources, security and guest services, and café and retail operations. She also leads strategic initiatives that advance the museum's mission, including budget administration, grants management, and long-range planning.
Blazey is an experienced executive leader whose career spans local and state government, community and economic development, nonprofit arts and culture, tourism, and higher education. She brings extensive expertise in financial management, strategic planning, organizational leadership, and public-private partnerships. Prior to joining the museum, she served as Senior Consultant for Economic Development at Thomas P. Miller & Associates and as Director of Community Development and Planning for the City of Jasper, Indiana, where she led transformative quality-of-place investments and regional economic development initiatives. She also served as Executive Director of Jasper Community Arts and remains active with the organization as a board member and former board president.
Blazey earned both her bachelor's degree and Master of Public Affairs (MPA) from Indiana University Bloomington. She completed her MPA with a concentration in nonprofit management through the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where she was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. She was also selected as a 2023 Fellow of the Tobias Leadership Center at the Kelley School of Business.
