Biography
Very little is known about the life of Agnese Dolci and no surviving works have been securely attributed to her. She is thought to have been born in 1635. Her father, Carlo Dolci (1616–1686) was a painter active in Florence. She worked in his studio and often made copies of his work. Le Christ bénissant, dit aussi L’Institutions de l’Eucharistie is thought to have been painted by her and is currently in the collection of the Louvre. She married a silk weaver called Stefano di Carlo Bacci, although the date of their marriage is unknown. Dolci died around 1686.
