About this Work

Koop received her MFA in 1969 from Indiana University, where she studied with renowned ceramicist Karl Martz. This striking ceramic form, created towards the end of her studies, is non-functional, melding aspects of sculpture and pottery. Throughout her career, the natural world, especially cactus forms, provided inspiration for her work.

Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
