A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts a bald light-skinned man wearing suspenders walking out of a store. Many household items and garden tools are on display in the windows and on the front stoop. The building’s facade is labeled “HARDWARE” in large letters, and both windows display the name “W.J. GUY.” Smaller signs in the windows read “GARDEN TOOLS" and "Goodrich GARDEN HOSE."
Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
