A verical black-and-white photograph depicts an elderly, light-skinned woman sitting in a domestic interior. The woman has white hair, wears a black hat, glasses, and all black clothing, and she gazes past the right border of the image. Behind her is a wall of geometric wallpaper, a poster of George Washington, a shelf with a clock, a cannister, and other miscellaneous objects, and a calendar featuring a religious image. Beside her, a table with a vinyl tablecloth printed with kitchen appliances is laden with a box of papers, string, and other detritus.
