A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts the exteriors of two light-colored buildings taken from a low angle. The building to the left of the image is painted with the words "W.A. SMITH | BEER TAVERN", and the building to the right of the image is painted with the words, "JOE'S PLACE | BOWLING AND BILLIARDS | JOE'S POOL HALL". The clear sky dominates the composition, and telephone lines stretch out across the sky above the buildings.
