A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts a close up of a domestic, wall-mounted mailbox. The mailbox is in the center of the image; to the left of the image is a closed screen door, and to the right is light-painted wooden siding. The mailbox is made of black metal with a crest in the center featuring a horse head atop a shield; a folded newspaper reading, "HOME ARTS | NOVEMBER 1938 | NEEDLECRAFT | TEN CENTS" is held in the wire paper rest below the box.
