A vertical black-and-white photograph depicts a close-up portrait of a middle-aged, light-skinned man taken from a low angle. The man sits with his elbow propped up on his thigh, holding a wooden pipe to his mouth. He wears a demim shirt with the sleeves rolled up, striped, patched denim trousers, and a brimmed straw hat with prominent fraying.
