A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts a line of wood-sided, saltbox style homes taken from the back yard. An outhouse and a clothesline hung with white laundry are visible in the tall grass of the nearest home's back yard. An empty, light sky dominates the composition; it is cut through by three parallel telephone lines.
