A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts an elderly, light-skinned woman sweeping a rug on her lawn. She stands in a fenced backyard beside a tree wielding a wood-handled straw broom. To the right of the image is the back corner of a single story home and a clothes line hung with two other rugs that have presumably received the same treatment.
Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
