A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts a railroad crossing intersecting a vast landscape of flat fields beneath a stormy sky. The photograph is taken from a gravel road that is just visible in the bottom left corner of the image; a wooden sing marks the rail road crossing, and a line of telephone lines runs parallel to the tracks. A farm house is visible in the far distance.
Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
