A square black-and-white photograph depicts a middle-aged, light-skinned man standing below a cylinder of rock material. He is wearing a hardhat and work clothing and raises a gloved hand as if to touch the rock. The man and the rock sample are directly lit, but the surroundings are extremely dark.
Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
