A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts two men wearing hats, one sitting in a rocking chair and the other squatting next to him. They are in front of a brick building with a sign that reads, "TANKAGE | FOR | SALE | HERE 250." To the left of the men, there are a couple of filled burlap sacks; behind the men, a figure is visible standing in a window with their back to the viewer.
Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
