A horizontal black-and-white photograph depicts a poster board and display illustrating a tomato and signs (from center to left) that read, "ASCENSION," "The POOR MAN'S ORANGE," "FOOD VALUE OF A | TOMATO | VITAMINS | GOOD 'A' | GOOD 'B' | EXCELLENT 'C' | FAIR 'G' | MINERALS | IRON CALCIUM | IODINE PHOSPHORUS," "TOMATOES | SUCCESSFULLY | GROWN IN 64 PARISHES | COMPARATIVE COST IF PURCHASED," and "HOME CANNING OF TOMATO JUICE." On the viewer's right, two identical signs describe food value of oranges and across the table sit various pots, pitchers, and cans.
