Image Forthcoming

Lawrie Brown, San Jose, California, 1949 -, Lawrie Brown received a BA in 1972 and an MA in 1975 from San Jose State University. She has held teaching positions in photography throughout California. Brown goes beyond the traditional confines of the photograph's two-dimensional surface, as in this early work, Wallpaper #1, where she sews a photograph. She is interested in modifying the physical surface of the print, thus creating new relationships between the surface and the image.
