Over the centuries Peru has seen a number of prosperous and influential cultures. One of these, the Chavín culture lasted from around 900 to 200 BCE. Chavín pottery shows the great skill of the culture’s artists. Through color is rarely used vessels such as this bottle are still expressive and extraordinary.
