About this Work

Born in Mexico, Mafong received a BA from California State University, San Diego, and his MFA from Indiana University, where he studied with renowned metalsmith Alma Eikerman. He crafted this chalice during his final year of study at IU. He is currently Professor Emeritus at Georgia State University, where he established a fine art metals program.
