Image Forthcoming

This cup has a band between the handles that is decorated simply, but elegantly. The central scene depicts a horseman chasing a deer and heralds a new focus on storytelling, but large floral flourishes at the sides also reflect a continued interest in ornamental decoration.

Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
