A ceramic jar shaped like a pumpkin with frog-shaped legs supporting it at the bottom left and bottom right sits on a gradient blue background. The frogs sit on their two back legs, with the top half of their bodies curving with the vessel toward the top. The vessel is colored in orange, brown, and copper tones.
Within Colima ceramics jars and other vessels are sometimes supported by animals such as birds. In this case, however, the supporting animals are three frogs who hold up the jar, itself in the form of a pumpkin. Colima ceramics often depict forms taken directly form nature and daily life, and such ceramics were often important offerings for the dead.
