Footed bowl made of grey-brown gritty stoneware with incised decorations.

Almost all early Korean ceramics have been recovered from tombs. This vessel with its delicated incised decoration and open work foot was probably used as a funerary urn.

Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
