About this Work

Considered the “grand old man” of Indiana University printmaking, Rudy Pozzatti built the program into one of the nation’s finest and co-founded Echo Press. His own work is revered for his masterful technique and experimentation with various media. Although Pozzatti began in a more representational style rooted in his Italian heritage, his later works moved toward greater abstraction. This work grew out of his “window” series, which utilized architectural motifs to explore the intersection of geometric forms, colors, and textures. Rather than editions, these unique works combine printed elements with hand painting and collage.

Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
