A container with a roughly hourglass-shaped gourd for the body and a tall stem-like shape at the top that acted as both a stopper and a cup. There are repairs on the surface of the gourd, particularly on the bottom.

A container with a roughly hourglass-shaped gourd for the body and a tall stem-like shape at the top that acted as both a stopper and a cup. There are repairs on the surface of the gourd, particularly on the bottom.

This two piece container for millet porridge was made out of a gourd. The top of the container servers both as a lid and would also have functioned as a cup. The use of aluminum repairs began after World War II, when surplus alumium cooking pots were melted down for their material.
