Openwork vase in the shape of a cactus-like plant form.
One of Australia’s leading metalsmiths, Blyfield is inspired by the natural world. Black Dog Wattle belongs to a series of delicate sculptural objects characterized by their leaf and petal-like forms. Black Dog Wattle, with its burnished sheen and foliate form, reflects Blyfield’s study of historic drawings of acacias and desert plants in Australian museum and botanical garden collections.
