Portrait of Herwarth Walden (Bildnis Herwarth Walden)

Herwarth Walden was one of the greatest early promoters of German Expressionism and other vanguard styles before World War I through his Galerie Der Sturm in Berlin and eponymous art journal. This bust—which combines elements of Expressionism, Cubism, and Futurism—embodies Walden’s avant-garde interests.
