Comb with Standing Figure

The dry climate of much of coastal Peru has allowed the survival of many objects made of perishable materials, such as textiles and wood carvings. On this comb, a few of the teeth are missing, but the male figure is intact. The interlocking snake motif above the comb’s teeth is also seen in other types of Chimú objects, such as textiles.
