Minoan pottery is known for its organic designs. Strong spirals dominate this vessel, a motif that appears on numerous other vases and wall paintings, as well. This luxury vessel is from the period when urban settlements in Crete were organized around cultural, religious, administrative, and commercial centers called palaces.
