Samia Halaby attended Indiana University from 1961-63, where she received her Masters of Fine Arts in painting. A teaching assistant while a graduate student, Halaby returned to Indiana University from 1969-72 as an associate professor. Since then she has held visiting lectureships at numerous institutions.
