About this Work

Lidded vessels such as this one are found in Chinese tombs. Commonly called hill jars because of their shape, these ceramics represent the world of the immortals. if you look carefully the hill is populated with strange people and animals and the "sea" beneath is filled with mysterious sea creatures.
