About this Work

This is one of only two images in this exhibition that was taken outside of the studio. It depicts a Ghanaian boy on an outdoor patio. His confident, dynamic posture and beaming smile energize the portrait, while the black and white panels of his shirt create a visual affinity with those along the wall in the background.

Provenance research is ongoing for this and many other items in the Eskenazi Museum of Art permanent collection. For more information about the provenance of this artwork, please contact the department curator with specific questions.
