About this Work

Born in Italy to an expatriate English painter, Enrico Coleman became a leading figure on the nineteenth-century international art scene. He was a founding member of the Roman society of watercolorists and was recognized for his genre scenes in the loose, proto-impressionist style of the Spaniard Mariano Fortuny.
