Join us for a night of extended evening hours, fun, food, and festivities at the Eskenazi Museum of Art's First Thursday. Our March First Thursday will celebrate Women's History Month. Engage in a variety of interactive art experiences, gallery games, and more. IU Traditions catering will be offering food featuring famous recepies by female chefs. Refreshments will also be available. 

 Activites will include:

#YourGoddessIsAsGoodAsMine: a pop-up photo studio where visitors can try on headdresses inspired by Eastern European art, hosted by the As Good As Mine Collective. You can read more about the project at the Indiana Daily Student

Creating a Culture of Caring: an interactive empowerment activity hosted by Leslie Fasone, Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Indiana University. 

Nigerian face painting and an African Market Game hosted by the IU African Students' Association

Henna tattoos by the IU Indian Students Association

Sketching in the Gallery led by local artist and Eskenazi Museum of Art Conservation Assistant Ellen Lyon

Women's History Month Wikipedia Edit-a-thon hosted by the IU Wells Library

Women, Power and the Arts, a guided tour that will illuminate the varied ways women as artists and patrons negotiate their social roles in specific cultures. 

Take Ten: student-led art discussions featuring one work, ten people, and ten minutes. Meet new people and form an opinion about a work of art. 

Live Harp Melodies in the second floor gallery, and DJ Jonny Yuma will be spinning music from female artists around the world in the atrium. 

Grab the family or a friend and come by First Thursdays at the art museum. First Thursdays is FREE and open to the public.
