Gallery of the Art of the Western World, Doris Steinmetz Kellett Endowed Gallery of Twentieth-Century Art, first floor

Jessie Kindig, visiting assistant professor of history and assistant editor of the Journal of American History, will discuss three lithographs from John L. Doyle's series Sharpshooters 76, considering how forms of military technology have mediated Americans' understanding of wartime violence. This gallery talk is presented in conjunction with the international conference "Reconfiguring Global Space: The Geography, Politics, and Ethics of Drone Warfare" to be held on the Bloomington campus, July 14-17, 2015.
